Arise Martial Arts is a IBJJF (International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation) Registered Academy, along with our Head Professor, Daniel Fundora being an IBJJF Certified Black Belt. Having these certifications provides our team with guidelines supported by IBJJF enhancing how our students can advance to achieve each belt degree from White to Red. The IBJJF model only gives the minimum time requirements spent per a belt. This system signifies a practitioner's increasing level of technical knowledge and practical skill within the art.
A statement we periodically hear our professor say is “Enjoy the journey, don’t rush the process”. Our promotions are not rushed nor delayed excessively. Every individual has their own path, and our own unique abilities. Even though our Academy follows the IBJJF Guidelines our professor carefully and strategically promotes students when they are ready and capable of fulfilling the expectations of the next belt.
The Brazilian Jiu Jitsu graduation system is the longest and hardest to achieve amongst the broad range of martial arts offered around the world. A Brazilian Jiu Jitsu purple belt is equivalent to a black belt in many other martial arts. A small 1% of the worlds population practice Brazilian jiu jitsu. Be proud of what you're doing, how far you've come and what you'll become.
